THE BOWEN TECHNIQUE
What is the Bowen
Technique? A gentle remedial therapy which stimulates the body to rebalance itself and promotes healing, pain
relief and relieves tension.
It originated in Australia in the 1950s, developed by a man called Tom Bowen.
He was so successful that by 1974 he was treating 13,000 clients a year with an 80-90% success rate; recorded by
a government investigation into complementary therapies.
Since the 1970s it has spread to over 30 countries worldwide
and is used by nurses, doctors and physical therapists.
It is the fastest-growing complementary therapy in
the UK today.
Benefits of using the Bowen Technique
A wide range of complaints
can be addressed. It is suitable for all ages from new-born babies to the elderly.
Response is generally
quick making this a cost and time effective treatment.
Alleviates targeted conditions and can also address old
injuries or symptoms at the same time (a client might be treated for tennis elbow and in addition her PMT symptoms will subside).
Bowen Therapy promotes circulation encouraging release of toxins and boosts the immune system.
There
are no contraindications and it can be used in cases of chronic and acute ill health.
It is beneficial and safe
throughout pregnancy.

Bowen can assist any skeletal or muscular complaint: in fact, anything you visit an osteopath or chirpractor for,
can be helped by Bowen.
